Hello! i’m jewel

I’m an observer, I love light, and I love the tiny crinkles on your face when you feel deeply. I love gardening (I grew that sunflower), it might surprise you that I love skydiving, but hanging out with my wife and my dogs in nature is where you’ll find me. I love all kinds of music, art, crocheting with a cuppa (I made that cardigan) and I am always, ALWAYS down for confetti and cake. I love weddings, it’s the most joyful gathering of life. I’ve actually opened Adelaide’s very own Little White Chapel of Love, Faithwood Chapel.

I love love, joy, encouragement and community and always bring my warmth wherever I go. I’ve been telling love stories and photographing love officially since 2010.

For 2026 you’ll find me on hiatus from JCP and shooting only at Faithwood Chapel (for now).

The more you know…

I'm 38, I married my wife in 2022 and I live in the inner-West of Adelaide in South Australia in a jungle of plants surrounded by thrifted art and pottery. I aim to bring kindness and warmth wherever I go. I’ve been affectionately called Mary Poppins, and that I look like an art teacher and a kindergarten teacher - all of which I love.

Wedding Photography is where my heart is and I am very lucky to have created a business that is in its 16th year. I love telling the stories of every love, abundant, joyful, sometimes painful, love. I have opened an Elopement Chapel, if eloping is more your style - check it out Faithwood Chapel.

I never sought out photography as a career, it was always a hobby and I was steering towards academia, Marketing then Psychological science. I've always been creative though, arty, always painting, crafting, cooking and creating. In 2010, I started taking photography more seriously while I was studying Psychological Science when my 70 year old Pop sat my down and said “You’re crazy if you don’t quit University, don’t worry about what your parents will say. You’ve found something you love, that you’re good at and that people will pay you to do, most people wait their whole lives to find that.” You can’t deny a 70 year old’s wisdom - and he was right. My life and heart are full. Photographing love, chasing light, telling love stories, watching families grow. I’m very lucky.

Using all I’ve learned over the years, I honed in on what has become my signature style today, candid, timeless with a focus on love, connection, the details, with a hint of old school romance. I still lend myself to the film days and embrace the candid, blur and grain. I’m able to walk into most any room and gently influence it into a lighter, warmer space to encourage connection, inspire vulnerability and comfort. That’s why at the end of every wedding and every sessions I hear “That was so easy”.
