WEDDING DAY SCHEDULE GUIDE
You shouldn’t rush on your wedding day.
Think about the best days, the Sundays, the holidays.
Most people’s Best Day ever is going to include zero rushing, it’ll be relaxed, easy, slow paced and soaking in every little moment.
Give yourself time on your wedding day. Things can move slowly. The more time you have, the better.
Here is a Guide for your Wedding day. Each day is unique, some are 8 hours with only 1 Prep, some are 10 hours with 2 Prep locations.
I’ll start around 11:30am or 12 for an hour to an hour and a half. From around 1:15pm I’ll need time to pack my gear and get in the car and travel, include a buffer of a couple of minutes.
After I arrive, I’ll say hello, have a little look around and begin by photographing all of your details; your shoes, accessories like jewellery, a watch, cufflinks, perfume and aftershave and anything special that you’ll be wearing or have with you. Your entire wedding attire! Suit, tie, dress, veil, have it all out in one spot. It’s nice to include your wedding stationary, your ‘something old, new, borrowed and blue’ too. I’ll be about 20 minutes. This is when hair and makeup should finish. Once I’ve done the details, we’ll do a couple of ‘faux’ hair/makeup shots. It’s about now we can pop a bottle in fancy robes.
Your Bridal party can get dressed, with finishing touches like ties, jackets, buttonholes and pocket squares, or earrings and shoes, to be done together, for the camera. Your favourite people will help you dress ceremoniously before we do any reveals, then some final Portraits, individually and with Family and your crew.
I like to get to the Ceremony early, take a good look around, meet the rest of the wedding team, assess the light. I’ll need to leave before you, I’ll arrive to the Ceremony location 20 minutes ahead of your Guests scheduled arrival, giving a buffer for parking, unpacking and setting up. I can photograph your Ceremony, then your guests arriving - Family and Friends are coming together, there’s always a lot of hugs and joy. It’s really lovely to be there to capture it, it’s like that scene in Love Actually!
